From Competition to Solution
Charolina Carbon aims to solve the carbon dioxide problem faced by the world. Our mission is to find solutions for carbon-intensive industries and help companies reach their net zero emission goals. Our approach uses activated carbon to capture carbon dioxide right out of ambient air. We also do so much more.
Our Story
In early 2023, a dedicated group of five undergraduate chemical engineering students came together under the guidance of their professor to qualify for and compete in the 2023 AIChE ChemE Cube Competition. The competition, focused on direct air capture of carbon dioxide, consisted of building a working prototype, developing and pitching a business plan, and creating an ad and a poster.
Our team won the 1st Place Award in the competition for the best results and the most effective carbon capture design. We also won the Entreprenuer award for best business pitch. We are turning the Charolina Cube into Charolina Carbon to continue our work and make an urgently needed positive impact on the world.
